Notes
This Suite for Solo Violin borrows heavily from the Baroque tradition of the dance suite, using traditional forms and clean, angular, rhythms. However, as the titles of the movements suggest, these are not your typical Baroque dances. From the sporadic and disconnected motion of the Prelude to the continuous (perpetual!) motion of Pent-Up Dance, each of these movements provide a new twist on the notion of "dance" music.
