Notes
Júbilo, Spanish for elation or jubilation, is a short musical work of celebration. Various Latin dance rhythms, many derived from the Samba, underscore themes of joy and festivity. However, while celebratory in nature, the piece does not portrait a sense of congratulations. Rather, the mood of celebration is expressed as a broad range of opposing emotional states, ranging from brooding anticipation to wild, reckless ecstasy.
The piece is intentionally fleeting, as jubilation is one emotion that must be savored in small bites.
